The world is heating up at an accelerating pace leading to high intensity and frequency of climate crises negatively impacting and exacerbating the vulnerabilities of ecosystems, economies and communities. This is all the more hard hitting in regions which have to balance development and combatting climate change. The need for energy transition is a clanging call to subdue the increase in temperature, but the uncertain geopolitical situations with supply chain and price volatility creates an energy insecure future. Keeping the trifecta of climate vulnerability, energy security and just energy transition in view, there is a need to unpack the interlinkages in terms of challenges and pathways to overcome these within South Asian via regional cooperation, knowledge sharing, and integrated planning among diverse stakeholders – policymakers, researchers, civil society, private sector and affected communities.
